Dutch apple pie crust
This is a great firm crust for any pie.
Ingredients: 2 cups flour 13 tbs butter 1 cup sugar pinch of salt to taste 2 eggs, beaten, set aside 1/2 of one egg for glazing. Directions: Mix flour, sugar, salt and a beaten egg in a bowl. Add butter in thin slices. Adjust consistency if necessary. Press 2/3 of the dough into a 9 inch pie dish covering the bottom. Pour in the filling. With the reserved 1/3 of the dough you can make a lattice top (or... eat it ;-)) Glaze the lattice top with the beaten egg you set aside. |
